Robinho. Wow. He ended up pretty crap but anyone that says they werent like a giddy 6 year old is a liar
Second after robert hopkinsJohn Gidman. Wouldn't he be the ultimate "giddy" signing?
Shame Chelsea ruined him. He was a pale imitation of the genius we enjoyed in his first spell at the club.Swp when we signed him back from Chelsea remember buzzing for him coming back sure it was Sunderland away his first game back scored 2 everyone was singing him name all game
Or maybe, rather than Chelsea ruining him, when in a team of players as good or better than him, he was never going to stand out like he did first time around with us. Same with Grealish unless he improves.Shame Chelsea ruined him. He was a pale imitation of the genius we enjoyed in his first spell at the club.
I’m right with you. I think Colin Bell was the signing that made me giddy but Marsh and Francis were huge stars at the time and were real statements of intent by the Club.Rodney Marsh , then Trevor Francis, shows what I know.
Agreed mate wish he didn't go but for the money at the time we had no choice but to cash inShame Chelsea ruined him. He was a pale imitation of the genius we enjoyed in his first spell at the club.
I’d forgot about that one. I loved anelka. Was a cut above most in that squad as much as I loved most of them. He had everything that a forward needed and he must look back on his career with some regret which when he’s played for Arsenal,Chelsea, Real Madrid and City must be crazy in itself.Surprised nobody's mentioned Anelka yet!
That was huge and signing him was a proper coup at the time. After hearing we were in for him I kept expecting that to fall through.
He did well for us, stayed committed and probably did as well as he could.
