Agreed. I don't like any of that mob, but he is one of the less obnoxious of them. He seems fairly modest and down to earth. But as Felix said, to talk about honouring him with a knighthood is absurd. I could understand it with someone like Steve Redgrave, who represented the country with a great deal of distinction. You can't say that about Giggs though; he missed almost as many as he played for Wales!

How can an athlete that has competed in say three events and done well get an mbe, and a footballer compete for almost twenty years and done well not get more?

He's quite unlike many footballers as he stays away from the limelight and keeps to himself...still a hairy git tho.
