Ryan Giggs sparked a bitter family bust-up by trying to seduce his alleged lover’s mum, it was claimed last night.
Relatives are said to have turned on the shamed soccer star after he appeared to be showering bubbly Lorraine Lever with attention.
Manchester United legend Giggs was allegedly already seeing her daughter Natasha, his brother Rhodri’s wife, while flirting with the 49-year-old at family gatherings.
Friends claim relatives had a “frank exchange” with the married dad-of-two who is said to have brushed off the accusations.
A source close to 34-year-old Rhodri said: “It was a great source of mither amongst the Giggs’.
“Some of the family felt Ryan was getting a bit too close for comfort to Lorraine and words were exchanged. Certain people accused Ryan of flirting with her whenever they were together and things eventually came to a head.
“Ryan laughed it off, saying they were getting the wrong end of the stick, but things were heated.”
It is also claimed estate agent Natasha, 28, had a fling with one of Giggs’ United team-mates while still seeing the winger. He had no idea about the alleged affair with the star, who is a decorated international.
Natasha is said to have kept the relationship from Giggs and his brother. It is claimed she was sleeping with the player while meeting Giggs for romps in hotels and empty flats across Manchester she had access to through her job.
A well-placed source said: “Natasha is well known in the city for being impressed by fame and fortune.
“Everyone was gossiping about how she was with Rhodri, Ryan and another Premier League star. It was an open secret. Ryan obviously knew Natasha was still sleeping with his brother but didn’t have a clue she was also seeing his former team-mate.”
The unmarried footballer at the centre of the fresh claims played alongside Giggs for almost 100 matches under Sir Alex Ferguson. The pair won three league titles.
Natasha is said to have confessed to devastated Rhodri and a friend last week that she had an eight-year affair with brother-in-law Giggs.
She claimed they regularly slept together after first meeting at a Manchester club in 2003. The Mirror revealed how she only spilled the beans after a third woman claimed to have bedded the United favourite – who has presented himself as a loyal family man during his glittering career.
Giggs was last night on holiday with wife Stacey in the Med where he is desperately trying to save his marriage.
The former Wales international’s spectacular fall from grace began on April 14 when he was granted an injunction banning the publication of his name and allegations he had an affair with Big Brother star Imogen Thomas. On May 10 a Twitter user revealed it was Giggs at the centre of the claims.
The player began legal action against the social network site, sparking a torrent of tweets by furious users naming him.
He wanted Twitter chiefs to try to find the names of people who had breached the court order online.
Two days later Scottish newspaper The Sunday Herald put a picture of him on the front page, with the word “censored” covering part of his face.
And on May 23 Lib Dem MP John Hemming named the star in the Commons during a debate on privacy injunctions.
He used parliamentary privilege to reveal the star’s identity and the media was allowed to report his comments. But Imogen is still banned by a court from talking about her alleged fling, despite being identified as the woman at the centre of the claims.
And in an interview with Nuts magazine, the 29-year-old insisted she would never sleep with a footballer again after the furore surrounding the allegations.
Imogen denied reports she has been seeing Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, a former boyfriend.
She told the lads’ mag: “Why on earth would I be going out with Jermain after all I’ve been through?” Asked if she would date another footballer, she replied: “No. Never.”
Imogen also revealed she may appear on Celebrity Big Brother when it returns later this year.
