Was a great day out that. When Gio was substituted the whole of Wembley stood to applaud him. ( Not just the stacks of City fans that were there that night )

Royle dropped him “ He’ll get you relegated that lad”; when he came back I think he scored within the first few minutes from a sublime free kick.

If memory serves, Joe left him out for quite a few games - and I’d say he was worth at least one extra point in those games which could’ve been the difference between staying up or not.

But then again we wouldn’t have had Macc away or York away

Southampton, Leicester, West Ham, was at Maine Road for all of those beauties. Also witnessed one of the best individual performances I've ever seen against Newcastle who were top at the time. Genius and a pleasure to watch during dark times.

He was out of this world that day against Newcastle. Think it was 3-3

I'll never forget his debut v Spurs
It was clear he was a genius with the ball
And then the relegation v Liverpool and his tears on the pitch at the end

Met him at Platt Lane and still have the signed poster
Just a pity we were so poor at the time , a very dark time to support City - losing at home to Bury and Wycombe etc

A skilful, exciting, you could almost say ‘world class’, player at times. At others a waste of a shirt who was detrimental to team play.

The typical luxury player. He’d be ideal to bring on in games like today, in today’s City team, at 5-2 up after an hour. He wouldn’t play the game out by sending everyone to sleep. He’d keep everyone on the edge of their seat even when the game is more than already won.

You wouldn’t want to be relying on him when 0-2 down and couldn’t rely on him week-to-week/game-to-game in our current side though.

I have been asked to take part in the documentary which is being organised by City
I have met him a few times and always thought he was a great bloke
We once went over to Amsterdam to meet him and he was brilliant with all of us
Just wondering what the esteemed Bluemooners take on him was
The wife kissed him back at the old trainning Ground back in the day..

He gave her the Eye.

I said "You are in here love these Georgians like a bit of meat on their Women Bones"

She said "You cheeky cnut" Bwhaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Loved the Guy.
