I wanted to get your opinion about the boy; every time I have seen him playing for the National squad (I think he had a great WC), and one or two times for Tottenham I thought to myself "well this kid is really something".
But clearly he isn't, considering what happening to him and his career.

Am I the only one who have seen something good in him? Can he become better you think? He's only 22 and should have a bright future up ahead.

Based on my impressions, I wouldn't be too upset if we were about to give him a chance to prove himself in the PL.

i think spurs missed a trick with him and adel taarabt... ive seen him a few times n thought the same, i remember an interview wiv warnock about taarabt saying he didnt fit in the spurs system as the premier league doesnt allow for an all out attacking midfielder... as i say missed a trick here spurs :) especially with modric wanting to leave

Didn't Redknapp say that he regularly turns up late for training? Maybe thats why he isn't played as much.

Personally, I don't rate him too highly.

Always fancied the lad to be somthing special but he never seems to have furfilled his potential, dont know why, but i think at the right club he might come good.
Does anyone know how his brothers doing at barca?

He played against New Zealand (my country) in a friendly the other day... he was by far their main threat and score 2/3 goals from them. As soon as he came off the pitch Mexico had very little in attack. I think in the prem he is a bit of a lightweight? But would be great and so cheap too!

why does ths thread exist? He is a failure at both spurs and ipswich.
