"Give Eastlands It's Kippax" Update - Meeting Planned

You can rename a stand the kippax and you can p*** off a lot of settled fans who create the most atmosphere by moving them or the away fans around. But at the end of the day it`s not gonna work cos theres too many people who won`t partake in any form of atmosphere building!!I`d suggest a simple fans survey for next years season ticket buyers and shift all the quiet sit down brigade to the Colin Bell and East stands.

best reply so far. simple. when you apply for a season card.

do you wish to stand and sing? please circle your answer.

A - YES

B - NO

southstand to stay the same and like RODDY CTID said on the kippax poll topic, all of east stand level 1 for standing and singing.

I know there would obviously be health and safety regulations regarding every single square inch on a standing section if it were to be more than 3 or 4 blocks but seriously, we pay our hard earned money to watch our team and just want to show them appreciation in the best way we can, this would not only attract people to what would seem such a highly energetic stadium but would also give great encouragement to our players.

and if anyone from the supporters department read any of these posts, then you will realise that not from just peoples thoughts but from poles aswell, that the majority of city fans would love to stand together and cheer. and this is just 1 fan site. times this by another 100 or so and you get the idea.

cheers!

If the numbers matched up, I would put the away fans in 119, 121, 220 & 219. This would give us the majority of the South Stand, join up the singing sections and keep the bastards off the telly. The away fans would also be close enough for the 'banter' and still handy for the coach park.

Best post so far.

This keeps all the right ingredients.

BTW: those of you at the other end...short of joining the SS support, why not face down the blanket and thermos brigade..they bring NOTHING to the stadium apart from their begrudged pennies

FOOK EM ... we're moving on and if they want to nurture their misery for future seasons they can could sign up for the trotters ...or better still the scum...LOL !!!!

It's not as if the present South Stand is exactly competing with the away supporters for noise. At every ground, away fans always sing more than home fans - why? Not because they've got a good place in the ground but because away fans tend to be those who want to sing (and can get away with standing). Give us a whole "end" or a whole "side" like the old Kippax, and you'd spread the singers more thinly, and it's harder to get a song going - as those of us who try to sing in the East Stand know only too well. You might end up with less noise.

Except being able to segregate fans at the end of the game (unless you always keep away supporters back). And the police will say - with some justification - that doing what happens at most grounds, where home and away supporters are not segregated, would be too much of a risk while we have numpties around that would be looking for trouble, and we do.

We have an obligation to give away fans a certain percentage of the capacity as well - 4 blocks doesnt suffice
Wrong apart from cup games. Look at the Swamp how few they give gotta be less than 5%

Not wrong at all - it is something like 3000 or 15% whichever is the lower. And it is an obligation not necessarily a rule - united might give 2700 or whatever as they say it is for safety reasons - segregation and the like.

Its on the football charter i beleive.

I just get taken aback sometimes at the vitriol spouted about folk who don't sing all game?

I sit in the North Stand, I drive over 4 hours each way to get there, I don't sing all game, I'm shattered, others just want to watch the game, not shout. What's the problem? A lot of folk just want to keep themselves to themselves.

I don't sing all game - am I not allowed to do that? Is the 14 year old pillock in a baseball cap spouting M*nic* songs better to be there than me?

Let folk who don't want to sing alone, rather than some of the pathetic neanderthal comments on here
