Giving money to animal charities

Regrettably, research is necessary even with animal charities. For example Dogs Trust claim never to put a healthy dog down and I have no reason whatsoever to doubt them.

Another extremely well-known animal charity killed 53,000 animals last year, according to the Daily Mail; equivalent to 44% of its intake. It has stopped accepting stray animals too. While I can't vouch for the numbers I have seen plenty of damning comments from other animal charities and from people I know personally.

Please donate to charities of your choice but please don't take them all at face value.

Animals are defenceless and have almost no laws to protect them, that is why my charitable money goes to them.

Rather than donating money to animal charities/shelters, I usually donate bags of food, treats, toys etc at christmas. That way I know it will be used on the animals
