Glastonbury 2023

I'm aware of that, it only annoys me when someone on the stage shouts something like "Fuck you Boris" and all of Twatter gets into a fuss over it, or makes Greta references like Fatboy Slim this this year and Haim last year. Whatever the latest political event is really.

From all the sets I saw, I thankfully didn't see any of the above.
In that case, please don’t click on the link below. I only post it to highlight he’s been including the Thunberg quote in his live show for years.
Just out of interest, and I’m genuinely interested in your take, why do you think he includes it? What do you think his reasoning is?

How many cunts filming?

Supposed to be dancing.

Returned from the festival late last night. What a few days!

I’ve been looking forward to posting here about the awful appearance of United shirts across the festival. I took great pleasure in noticing not one of those idiots had a Mancunian accent.
Agreed it was an unbelievable few days - thought there were noticeably more City shirts on show around the site this year than usual, as well as a City flag during a few of Elton’s songs (one of the ones from the FA Cup/CL Finals)

Best 'surprise act' for me was Nova Twins. Although I've heard of them, don't know too much about them. To me live they sounded a little like a bit of a mash up of RATM, The Prodigy and Skunk Anansie with a bit of rap thrown into the mix. Have to check out more of them as there is so little Rock music (or any music really for that matter) that really grabs my attention these days.
Their album is well worth a listen.

Cat Stevens putting on an incredible show here.
Just catching up on some Glastonbury bits on iPlayer now.

Cat Stevens. Just wow. Sensational. He must be pushing 80, what a set. Chopping onions here.

Funny though I've just messaged my mum and asked if she watched it as she's a big fan. She said it was "sad", but she saw him back in the 60s and 70s so I guess it's all about perception.

Leaving aside any PC reasons, Greta saying Right Here Right Now is a perfect fit for that track. Maybe she can shoehorn funk soul brother into one of her future rants.

Whatever your personal preferences (and they leave me cold, before you ask), Coldplay absolutely nailed it when they appeared a few years back.
Coldplay are just one of those bands people use as a punchline because it's "the thing" to do.

Anyone who knows anything about live music appreciates what an accomplished live act they are.

Didn't Chris Martin also do a song or two with Liam Gallagher at the memorial concert for the Arena victims at the real Old Trafford? And again was excellent.

I think they are pretty "tired" now....and not very interesting...but their first 2 albums, especially Parachutes, are excellent
