to help raise money for Macmillan cancer - an excellent cause and no great hardship to stay off the booze for 31 days, then give what you would have spent on alcohol to the charity.

I reckon staying off the booze for 31 days might be a hardship for plenty of people for varying reasons. Can I live my life in my usual way all October and just give some money to Macmillan or is that kind of thing not acceptable anymore? Is it essential to join in with tedious pun related shit as well as give money now?

It is now compulsory to throw cold water over yourself whilst not drinking.

Thinking about it, they want us to stop drinking in October and then come November 1st they want us to grow a tash, and the ladies have Fanuary, will there be any spare months in the near future where we can do just what "we" want...
