Isaksson was signed by Pearce for £2.5m to replace David James but was always injured and eventually became number 2 to Nicky Weaver in 2006/7, Weaver's contract expired in the summer of '07 and he left for Charlton as Sven took over City leaving us with Isaksson, Hart and Schmeichel for the new campaign.
Schmeichel started the first few games, Isaksson had a run of about 4 games either side of Hart being in the side, who in his second spell as number one cemented himself as our first choice under Sven.

At the time, I thought Schmeichel should have been given a proper run in the team and proper chance to establish himself as our Number 1, although considering where Hart is now, it's probably best that he wasn't.
I got quite excited when we signed Isaksson. Although if I remember rightly he was never really better than average, his shot stopping was ok and his kicking was quite poor. His best game was probably the 8-1 defeat to Boro, where it would have been about 10/12 if it wasn't for his saves.
As for Weaver, it's a shame he left how he did, I thought he would have been worth another year, at least as a backup. When I saw he went to Charlton I was a bit annoyed as I thought he was still Premiership quality, and sadly his career has gone a bit downhill from there. It would have been nice to see him come back on loan last season, when we needed an emergency 'keeper, although, to be fair, Fulop did reasonably well, and better than I expected.
Ellegaard played for us in the Keegan days. He never really did anything to convince me he had a long term future here. Watteruus as I recall only played in two Carling Cup games. Richard Martin was a strange one, we took him on trial, then Sven must have seen something he liked and signed him, although I don't think he ever got anywhere near the first team.
