Afternoon @oakiecokie ’s grandad.

Cave paintings suggest that humans wore simple mittens, possibly knitted, as far back as the Ice Age. But the oldest existing gloves, made sometime between 1343 and 1323 B.C.

Bruce Grobbelaar's was probably filled with used tenners and instructions.

Any keeper worth his salt had a keepers bag in the 80s and 90s. Even I had one.

Used to have another pair of gloves in plus a little towel and maybe a drink.

Then when I was playing at somewhere like fisher athletic or welling some scally had it away when I put it in the net.

What they’d want with my little ensemble I have no idea.

Well, if it were an old kitbag it would have been packed full of troubles...for us FOAC's.

If I'd played in goal, mine would've contained some raindrops on roses and whiskers from kittens etc.. just a few of my favourite things.. together with some camomile lotion just in case the dog bites or the bee stings..
