Goals Conceded

I think you will find that teams play with one striker against us. So midfielders are out numbered due to we play only 4 across the middle. When Sergio plays he drops deeper to help a lot of the time.
But by bringing teams out we attack at pace. ie AK's goal yesterday.

-- Thu Jan 02, 2014 10:15 am --

Oh and by the way.
Win every game 3-2 will win us the league.

You think Yaya is a DM?

I am also guessing you watched MoTD. Well done.

Actually I did but they didn't say anything that everybody has not been moaning about at the Etihad whenever he fails to run back and cover. Also I don't think he is a defensive midfielder, I know so (have been following him since he played for Olympiakos) but has amazing attacking abilities as well, obviously.

11 goals for Yaya so far this season .

Unbeaten in 2 months

Won 10 out of the last 11 including beating Bayern , Arsenal and Liverpool

6 wins on the trot in the premier league

Top goal scorers in the HISTORY of the premier league so far this season

And yet we can still improve.

Frightening prospect for other clubs.
Yes, but what have the Romans ever done for us?

You haven't been listening to the media have you? Everyone knows we've been lucky so far and the titles between scum, spuds and the red dippers.

just what i was thinking

I've been saying it for weeks that we do lack some discipline in central midfield at times and for me, Yaya is the biggest culprit.

When he had either Barry or Dejong behind him, he got away with not tracking back as they covered in for him, but this season we have in most games, employed a "flat" central two with Yaya and Ferny, it took Ferny a few games to suss things out and he has improved week by week since, but many times you see both of them attacking rather than just one and the other dropping off which, with both full backs bombing on as well, leaves us very short to counter attack goals ( i.e Fulhams first goal the other week )

Yaya does not track back ( or rather stay with his man ) as you will see many "one twos" leave him for dead and there is a noticeable lack off effort in going with the runner - that said, he usually scores a goal and thus his overall contribution for the other 89mins is masked a little, as it was yesterday. Pundits keep raving about how he dominates games but I don't see it, and certainly not on a consistent basis.

scores us more goals than it costs us these tactics imo, yaya was great as a playmaker the whole game yesterday.

I get pissed off with reading about "Lazy Yaya" - "Undisciplined Yaya"

It's the managers choice to play with two in midfield. Its the way we are going to play from now on. You know the holistic vision for the club etc.

Its why we got rid of Barry who kind of filled in for De Jong once he left. We have abandoned the defensive midfielder role in front of the back 4 which was Roberto's way or have some on here not noticed. Yes it leaves us a bit open when we go for the throat but that is the nature of the beast. Christ it was bemoaning the slow build up and lack of penetration and now it's a dominated midfield who can't track back. Do give over. Occasionally we have been caught out early in the season as it was not a system we were familiar with however I would point to our goal difference as to the measure of the tactics so far. It's not what I would advocate away in Europe though but I'm not the manager.

If he carries on being so fucking lazy we will have won the League in March scoring a record amount of goals almost certainly adding a cup to the title with a cracking run in the CL playing the best football i've ever seen in 40 years watching City and an alleged defensive midfielder scoring over 20 goals (got to be a record for City in the modern game).

So yeah he's shit sell him and change these shit tactics.

Fuck me!

Points for me. The team that gets the most usually wins the league.

Brilliant

However, we do concede too many and I blame Yaya for many of them. He doesn't want to work defensively (which is ironic for a defensive midfielder), especially against 'smaller' teams, everybody seems to be running past him and doesn't bother to run back. So we have people running at our defenders all the time. If he doesn't defend against Barcelona we will be in serious trouble.

Yaya Toure is not a defensive midfielder, never has been.
Did you ever watch him at Barca, did a job in defense but always looked awkward.
When he was pushed up he was immense, this has not changed.
Imo the only reason he was sold was due to them having the best attacking midfield pair the game has arguably ever seen.
If they were allowed just 1 more man in their squad we would never have got him.

We do look more open than under mancini. However that is the price you pay for witnessing the best attacking football seen in over 40 years.
We will have to modify when we play away in CL and when facing our rivals away in Pl. Enjoy
the exciting ride City fans. We always look capable of scoring goals. This will bring us through in lifting at least 1 trophy this year.
