I agree although today Torres has played as a 9 not a false 9. Could be 20 goal striker, he has all the instincts.This is kind of why the false 9 Guardiola setup is so jarring at times.
We have this accepted notion of the classic 20 goal striker, yet we absolutely teabagged the entire league last season after giving them a 2 month headstart using a system that IIRC produced the most individual goalscorers on a team in the Prem.
This is why it was very wise of City not to go anywhere near that £160m for Harry Hotspur. Every season our goals are spread out around the squad. Sometimes with five players in double figures and we’re always the top scorers in the league.Ten goals from nine different scorers.
