Goals you've missed by leaving early/late/going to the bog?

Re: Goals you've missed by leaving early?

Before 1999 - absolutely none at any of the games I'd been to. In 1999 I missed Horlock's and Dickov's goals at Wembley but got back in for extra-time. After that match, absolutely none at any of the games I've been to.

Same for me also, my cousin wanted to leave early against QPR in May and I reminded him about me in 99. He still thanks me every game!!!!

Re: Goals you've missed by leaving early?

be honest did anyone consider leaving 0-3 down to united and down to 10 men at half time, it crossed my mind,

What was nearly the mother of all comebacks, '86 Full Members Final vs Chelsea. Dad dragged me out about 10 minutes from the end at 5-1, and we missed 3 City goals.

It was so out of character for me. I was so upset at that stage. It wasn't that I felt the team was finished in terms of competing by staying down in league 1, I genuinely thought that we would go out of business, we were finished forever. Sounds daft I know, but it was how I felt. Couldn't bear to watch the melt down.

Got outside and heard the first cheer and thought - "fuck, Gillingham have scored again" - then I heard the next roar and thought - "fuck, Gillingham are up and my club's gone to the wall, it's over" and was crying my eyes out. Then I saw loads of people running around and I thought - "fuck, the rumour about Millwall turning up was right and I'm gonna cop a shoe-ing!" - and someone screamed at me "it's TWO FUCKING TWO!!!!"

As usual I posted first then re read the thread, and as usual I replicate another's story. I know that was the last time I ever left early, '99 play off finals glad i didn't get dragged out.

Fair shout. Got to be honest it did cross my mind too. Glad we didn't coz it honestly felt like a win at the end. (I think Mancini alluded to this game and second half performance with ten men being a platform for our title success?)

Re: Goals you've missed by leaving early?

Plenty i'm ashamed to say, mainly due to alcohol withdrawal.
One i do remember(just about) is John Gidmans V Huddersfield at Leeds Road in the cup to force a replay.
Oh yeah, forgot,Dickov's at the play off final but managed to get back in thank f**k.
