This GoFund me page is in loving memory of Super Blue Neil Jones, a lifelong Manchester City fan who fought until the end, after suffering a catastrophic double stroke just before Christmas 2019.
Neil (51), a postman with Royal Mail, wasn’t expected to live beyond 24-hours after the strokes, but he defied the odds over a gruelling 14 months of heartbreak, despair and ultimately tragedy.
We’re now seeking to ensure his family aren’t left ‘standing alone’ in the aftermath of his passing.
The bitter irony of Neil’s ‘Fight ‘Til The End’ spirit, meant his death in service payment from his employer was diluted, once he went beyond 12 months of ‘sick leave’.
The loss of Neil has had a huge impact on so many people, none more than his devoted ex-wife Carol and teenage sons, Stefan and Kyle.
They’ve all been through a living hell, especially when Covid19 lockdowns often prevented them from being at Neil’s bedside to offer love and encouragement.
Carol and Neil may have divorced but they never stopped being best friends and loving parents to their boys. Carol was unwavering in her support, channelling so much energy into helping Neil in such dark times.
As friends of Neil and members of the ‘City Family’ we’re just looking to give something back to Carol, Kyle and Stefan - to make life a little more bearable - as they strive to come to terms with their devastating loss.
If anyone could donate even any amount, it would be so helpful. Some of you may recognise or know Neil and not even realise the news. He was a top life long blue who touched many of us and brought many of our group together.
hope this is okay to post.
