Going to non city games abroad

Was in Rome the other week. You cannot buy tickets from the stadium, you need to go to one of the official Roma shops around the city to get tickets.

In Lisbon last year for the City game and as the flights suited an extra day or two away I flew into Faro on the Tuesday. Waiting at the bar across the square from the station two Benfica fans arrived and had a drink with them, then had a few more with them on the train to Lisbon and they talked me into going to the Benfica Zenit CL game, easy to get a ticket from any of the official ticket booths and had an enjoyable evening watching two decent sides.

Nice one - did you go to a game?

Yeah, went watching Roma vs Pescara. Pretty poor game to be honest! The crowd was a decent 40k but there was hardly any atmospehere due to the stadium being far too big, about 70k i think. Definitely worth going though if you're there

How much was the ticket?

With it being v Napoli if I can go I can see our two new signings in action - DDR and Cavani should both play.

On one website it says 12.45 kick off and on another 7:45 (might have said 8:45 actually) anyway the kick off time isnt set in stone yet less than 2 weeks before the game? I can go the evening but not the day

Done a few.
Lazio v Juventus in 2000, bought tickets at a Lazio shop in central Rome day before the game.
AC Milan v Chievo in 2003, bought tickets online on the AC website. Printed off the receipt and collected the tickets from the ground on match day along with loads of Japanese.
Barcelona v Real Madrid in 2001, bought the tickets of a tout.

Check out the clubs website. Most have a English translation and you should be able to by them direct.

A few years ago we were staying in Estoril, just down the coast from Lisbon. Anyway we noticed-[via Portugese tele] that Benfica were playing Setubal ---a local derby! Got the train to Lisbon [30 mins] -cab to Stadium of Light[Stad to Ludz] and bought tickets from booths outside the ground .Fantastic atmosphere with loads of street food stalls, scarf sellers, bars and rivals fans mixing without any obvious mither. The big bollock dropped was when we bought tickets for the 'Superior' seats for about £10. We ended in the very top tier of the stand and could have been watching ants play as were so far from the pitch. Still it was very civilised, with beer sellers roaming the stands flogging cans of beer from chilled baskets.Later we discovered that Superior means high seats in Portugese. Despite that -- a bazzing night out.
