Starsailor played in my local pub in front of about 50 or so.

It always kind of annoys me when bands nick their name from another artist like Starsailor. Sisters Of Mercy, Death Cab for Cutie, Powderfinger is another. It's like they can't think of something original.

I saw Steve Diggle play an acoustic set in front of about a doz. people at some social club in Prestwich a few years ago.

Saw Def Leppard at Nottingham Boat Club in 1979, when half of them were still at school and they all had the requisite number of limbs. Small venue <200 I reckon

saw Black Eyed Peas play in a tent in Leeds to about 35 people. They were shit.

saw the Lathums do an acoustic set in a coffee shop

I saw MONO and Low in 2012 at a club in Stockholm, called Debaser (@Bill Walker).
Low had about 150 people, MONO probably had less than 100.
Two great gigs.

The Cramps.

Saw them very early on their history in Manchester when founding member Bryan Gregory was still alive.

Not sure if this was the gig Morrissey wrote about but they were awesome.

And they were also excellent when they made this TV appearance on The Tube a few years later.



Also Splodgenessabounds.

Max Splodge used to work behind the bar in a pub called The Three Crowns in Stoke Newington.

One Sunday night he played a great impromptu gig which I was fortunate enough to witness along with about 50 other people. Not sure if it counts as an actual Splodgenessabounds gig as this was around 1984 and I think they had temporarily disbanded. But it was good fun.

I saw Robin Trower at the nags head north here in Toronto many moons ago.
Probably less than 50 purples there.
