Good city book . Options

I would get both - you can get through Lakey's book fairly quickly. The Conn book is more hard going but from what I've read so far it seems like a good read.

wouldn't touch the Conn book unless you want to be depressed

Lakey's book is hardly a barrel of laughs either! (but a very good read)

If you can get it, I took Fred Eyre's book on holiday a few years back, pissed myself laughing reading it.
lakey's is a tragedy of circumstance and cock up

the other's just a miserable twat harking back to the halcyon days

Read Lakey's a few months back and it's superb; exposes a side to the game that often goes unoticed, i.e. psychological trauma of players dealing with injury etc. Top notch book.

Started Andy Morrison's on Thursday night and I've got two chapters left. Another enthralling read, and I'd recommend both of them. I got through them both really quickly as they don't include the boring early chapters focusing on early life that you aren't necessarily interested in as a reader.

Both are brutally honest, entertaining and highly recommended :)
