a great win but that friggin walk back to the vine was a killer.

Yeah was well pissed off after trudging through the grey slush for 20 mins to find that the way the old bill sent us down that passageway meant we were back outside the ground 20 mins after leaving!
I actually found the way back first time, which pleased me no end. Wish I'd taken some pics of the walk down the path by the tram tracks as it was really eerie.

Being at the Hawthorns yesterday reminded me of my first visit there for an FA Cup replay in 1977, similar conditions right from the KO then and the groundsmen had to clear snow from the lines a few times to allow the game to continue.
That night was my first visit as well weather was as bad or worse than yesterday missed first 10 minutes that night a one nil win for us. i think.

Yes that's right, Joe Royle with the only goal, we beat Newcastle at SJP in the next round with all the scrapping on the Gallowgate terrace and then went on to lose to Leeds at Elland Rd in the 5th round.

Apparently WBA is the highest Premiership ground in the country
The highest ground in the whole of the UK I believe.
Who'da thowt it, Birmingham on top of a mountain, always thought it was as flat as a flute.

I had heard of this before SO last night I was trying to convince 2 Macc. fans that WBA is the highest in all 4 divisions.
They would not believe me. I find it hard to believe as well. Driving down the M6 and take a left to the Hawthorns - I don't see any hills??.
Strange - how many feet above sea level ? - any ideas.

I thought that accolade went to Oldham?
No but Oldham's the coldest.

Even if there's a heatwave in Manchester, it's fucking freezing at Boundary Park.
That day at Villa Park when Micah equalised with that thumping header in the cup was friggin freezing, one of the coldest i'v ever been at a match, took Mrs Undies that day, when we got home she lay in a hot bath for an hour, bloody cold in the Midlands sometimes

Should've warmed yourself up by running on the pitch like some of us did! That certainly helped me! ;-)

pictures?

shame there are no pictures of city fans struggling like mad to walk the longest ever route round the stadium and beyond to get back to their cars parked at the end of the ground where we where let out. Took fukin ages and slippy as fuck in the dark.

You would think somebody would realise this in a day and age where we think safety first. Well done ground security / west bromich police for not having common sense you ********* !
