Just got back from the pub.

Have to hand my keys and laptop in, although I'm sneering my phone out, then I've got a two hour drive home.

West Ham tomorrow will be slightly messy.

Remember to delete the history on the laptop.
Too late, I forgot

Hope there's nothing on it that could lose you your job ;)

Congratulations, did the same myself last year after 35 years at the same company. Best thing I ever did, haven't missed work in the slightest. Enjoy every moment of your retirement.

@blueunderpants
I know what you mean but I have no intention of packing up and leaving the area, just spend more time away from it

@Blue Mist
Nothing secret about what I'm aiming to do but didn't want to bore everyone with plans but, as you asked:

Following City in Europe, as I'm not allowed personal leave at the mo

Spend the whole of January, after the schools have returned, skiing.

But I also want to spend a year in china and learn Chinese
Travel to Tibet, Nepal and Kathmandu and go trekking in the Himalayas
Cross the Gobi desert and travel the trans Siberian express to Ulan Bator and ride horses on the Steppes of Mongolia
Go to Antarctica to see the penguins and sail the Arctic Fjords.
Travel on a working boat around Northern Europe in Winter and catch the Northern lights. Visit the volcanoes and geysers of Iceland
Backpack round Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
And cross the States by Route 66 on a Harley.
Visit Yellowstone before it blows.

A lot of that was my plans as well - apart from traveling around South America at first (I never left!)
