I wish you would have told me that on the night :)I doubt very much that the hatch has been tied with rope and certainly not from the inside as the only way he would have got out would be through the floor.
I presume the rope would have been used to lash down some cargo to the lashing rings.
Qualifications: 43 years as an aerospace engineer.
I'm not a nervous flyer by any stretch but I did think I hope the door stays on which obviously It did.
