I made the mistake of downloading google chrome to my pc... took 15 minutes to start up sometimes... got rid,all now fine.

You're all wrong.

A browser is never responsible for slowing down your PC.

The worst/slowest browser in history (and anyone in the know will tell you) is Internet Explorer.

Talking from a technical background, Chrome is by no means perfect but it does a damn sight better than most. Even the much raved about FireFox is slower. As it's a banner add you're complaining about, it's most likely the banner itself that's at fault.

I'm defending Chrome as I'm using it right now and have done since it was in BETA (chuckle!). It's been the best browser I've ever used.

And the Mac comment is just silly:

1. Mac does not = OSX. - which I believe is what you're referring to.
2. Safari is based on the same code as Chrome (webkit). So if the browser was the problem, it would also be a problem with Safari.
3. OSX is based on free technology (UNIX). Granted Apple have done a lot of with OSX but it's still Linux. Ubuntu has had a lot done to it too - but that's FREE!!

I'm using Chrome and it's absolutely great and so fast, I've stopped using Firefox now because that's slower.

I use Google Crome as well, and I can safely say it is simply the best browser out there, bar none.

To the OP I'm afraid it is your computer (maybe running low on virtual memory), broadband, or the ad that is the issue. Not browser.

If you go back to Firefox, IE or Opera you will find they are no better.

The page will load, but won't be active until the Chrome ad appears.

No we're at the mercy of the ad provider, but its the same for me too.

For those that are saying chrome is the quickest browser it maybe, but this thread is about the google chrome advert that slows the loading of Bluemoon on other browsers.
