Going to jail is just part of the system, that we forgot to fund. Education is primary, we don’t really care about that though.

Poverty does not make you a criminal. My mum and dad had very little, they didn't steal from anyone.

Just let out the non payment of fines prisoners, shoplifters etcetera on tag. They could also use old passenger ferries or such. They were good enough for me to live on when I was working on the fuckers so they'd be fine for non dangerous prisoners. Anchored out at sea they're not exactly going to be easy to escape from.

You wouldn't need ferries if we stopped sending people down. Look at the thread 24 hours in police custody. Yes the homeowner was wrong but does a prison sentence benefit anyone? If he had been put on a nightly and weekend curfew do you think he would breach it ?

Very true, but since Thatcher decided there was no such thing as society and binned off the working class for an unemployed underclass those traditional working class pride and values are lost. It's a statistical fact that crime goes up in economic hard times.

Sure, I did mention petty criminals being let out. As for the 24 hour police custody case go on the thread, I'm bloody typed out on the subject lol.
