I'll post this here but it is specific to Liverpool.

The Telegraph are reporting that the government is on the verge of taking over the running of Liverpool due to endemic corruption. Commissioners would be sent in to run the city and this would be unprecedented in recent times for a city this size. Northampton, Rotherham and Tower Hamlets have been run on this basis in recent years.

The city or the football club?

Can’t see what could possibly go wrong here.
It can hardly be any worse than the cesspit of drugs, corruption and general criminality that it is at the moment.
I have relatives in the city so I know of the corruption that goes on.

Part of me was hoping it was the football club just to see how UEFA treat them.

Tories taking on the scousers.

Have we gone back to the 80's?

History shows this won't end well...
It is telling that one of the people who has been arrested for corruption is good old Degsy. He was kicked out of office in the 80's but still (allegedly) runs the city.
Very brave of the Tories but it is about time.
