Gov't to sell off our forests

I thought you were all above the love. That doesn't sound very hippie-ish to me. Have you tried throwing some organic beans at them? If so, and that failed, call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit them hard, and we hit them fast, with a major, and I mean major, leaflet campaign, and while they're reeling from that, we'd follow up with a whist drive, a car boot sale, some street theatre and possibly even some benefit concerts. Now, if that's not enough, I'm sorry, it's time for the t-shirts.

He's like all bleeding heart lefties mate, sits there in his dressing gown smoking 'spliffs' all day and listening to Bob Dylan....he's all for peace, love and harmoney ........as long as you agree with him.

Am I alone in thinking who cares? I certainly don't they're trees FFS. Labour got us in this mess and if a few trees have to get the chop now I really don't see thr problem.

Emmisions increase
Wildlife killed off
Ozone layer fucked.

Thats just for starters, in the scheme of things they're not "just trees ffs".

Exactly, the fact is woodland in this country has been decimated, for millennia the whole country was covered by forests and now they're about 12% of the land use, and of that 12% only 2% is even 'semi-natural', the rest is all managed plantations for business, rather than actual wild woodland. So Britain has an actual forest cover of just 0.24% and brooklandsblue thinks that they're 'just trees ffs'

I stand by what I said.....you want to look at trees then I suggest you try a national trust park-both Dunham and Tatton a lovely this time of year. Anyway unless I've grossly misread the situation, the government are simply selling the forests not actually allowing it to be torn down...

Signed. But there are some really quite mad fuckers I know (militant hunt sabbers and the like) who are itching to go on this.

I surreptitiously plant about half a dozen shrubs and trees a week; on roundabouts, council estates and all sorts of places, at all times of day and night. I know what I'm doing and I know it's making a difference. I'm not on my own, there are loads of us. The inevitable public spending cuts are gonna see municipal horticulture take a nosedive, but it's a fundamental part of our social well-being and the upkeep of an environment which really isn't ours to fuck with.

Good on you. I signed this but it smacks of yellow and green scarves a little bit.
