Graham Souness

I saw that and Souness was really starting to piss Hoddle off, it was quite funny to watch.

The point raised was that Spurs have only scored 9 goals this season, 5 at home. City have scored something like 26 goals at home, so which team would you rather watch? He is spot on.

I find Souness to be the best pundit on Sky, he doesn't tow the party line and has no apparent agenda. Whether he's positive or negative about City I always tend to agree with him, rather than thinking "there's another ex-rag who just doesn't like City" as with the likes of Yorke.

You can just see the disgust in his face every time he's on with Jamie Redknapp, and Redknapp opens his mouth. I usually have a similar look of disgust on my face.

But how long will SKY put up with Souness and allow this to continue?
Normally if you don't toe the line the are out!

I wouldn't want to be the bloke that has to fire Souness.

So if his wife is really a City fan then maybe the high praises he gives us is for some.... eh.... "special" favours then?

More like he isn't getting any "special favours" if he slags us off, LOL.

Adebayor warms up on the touchline and both Glenda and Souness have their say.

Hoddle - "This is an interesting one because AVB is saying 'Let's make it 3-3 here'

Souness - "(Adebayor) is a kidder. He plays only for himself"

One comment almost nonsensical in its naivety.

The other opinionated and forthright.

Sums them both up for me.

Sorry - not taking part in this love in for a Player who was as overrated as Gerrard and almost as vicious as Keane.

Shit Manager as well.
IIWARF you surely are taking the piss and on the wind up?, right?.

Not one bit. Anyone who saw football in the seventies saw how ridiculous and biased Football was in favour of the Mickeys. The treatment that United get now from the Refs and the FA is nothing compared to what that lot got away with. An opposition forward had to get shot or stabbed to get a penalty at Anfield. Souness was never out of the Referee's lughole and he positively smirked every time he left his foot in. We saw the measure of the man when he sold his soul for a few quid to "The Sun".

As a Manager; unless in a two horse race - and with the financial odds heavily stacked in his favour like in Glasgow and Istanbul he has been sub standard.

A few kinds words about my team doesn't change any of that.

There was nothing naive about Hoddle's comment. He was clearly questioning the (in)sanity of AVB's decision.

I'm not bothered whether he is kind or not in his praise for City. I will agree with you that he was a poor manager, and the fact he had everything in his favour regarding shitness of league and cash. In the time he was at Liverpool 78-84, he was nothing short of brilliant and the complete midfielder, who could pass, shoot, tackle, get from box to box, score goals, a tremendous leader and a hard bastard, who could take a kick and give a kick. Football was different back then, and you had to be able to dish it out as the game (in my eyes), was far dirtier than now. He was the heartbeat of that Liverpool midfield and in today's market would be worth £40m+ if not more, brilliant player, and any City fan would've wanted him in our engine room then and now (I know I did).

After the Tevez incident in Munich:

Hughes: "The thing with Tevez is that he just wants to play"

Souness (looking baffled at the idiot sitting next to him): "Well, clearly not"

Really like the guy. Sky have some awful people working for them but they also have the best in Souness, Neville and Carragher.

Really want to watch the pre and post mach analysis - ive asked on the match day thread for the download of the spurs game if they are included or if its just the match. Anyone know?
