Going off the topic a bit, but i heard Joe Royle interviewed on talkshite a couple of months ago. He said that he was asked to apply by the FA for the England job when Taylor got it, but didnt apply because he assumed it was always going to be Taylor's job. Said he was later told that it was him they wanted and not Taylor.
