It’s a good thing to be remembered for. Kindness is something he seems to have in his persona. He is a good lad but it hasn’t worked out and it’s time to leave now.
Wasn't a criticism. Totally agree with you. The empathy towards the blind girl after we'd won the CL was beautiful. Numerous disabled visitors to the main entrance before games. I genuinely can't think of any other footballer that I've seen consistently take the time to interact with disabled fans the way he does.

I don't think it's time for him to go or if he will be sold I'm sure Jack and Phil will be major part of the team next year
I hope for that to be the case, but I just don't see how Jack is a City player next season unless he manages to lock in this summer and convince Pep he's ready to own that left wing spot or become "good enough" to be played through the middle.

He was instrumental in the treble winning season and therefore justified his price tag. He's turning 30 soon and has had fe injuries so perhaps his best years are behind him
This is a verbatim response now to any Grealish criticism as if to justify his transfer fee. 5 goals and 7 assists in that season. His best season in a City shirt for a forward player winning it all.

Rarely scores, hardly shoots, rarely assists

He played well in the treble season and can be proud of his role in making history.

Stats don't always tell the whole story...but they often give you the gist. My main criticism of Grealish is that he has always been too gun shy - will often pass up very good shooting opportunities to play a pass instead. There's being a team player and then there's abdicating responsibility at times.

His bank account is bulging his trophy cabinet is bulging. And he’ll look back at the end of his career as a success but will think to himself it could have been a hell of a lot better.

was the Super Cup but 100% agree wiht your post

How’s he soft ?
Physically: He’s far too reliant on winning fouls rather than pushing through contact — He often goes to ground at the slightest touch. Whether you call it simulation, gaming the system, or just soft play, it happens far too often. Instead of showing tenacity and standing up to the physical demands of the game, he defaults to drawing fouls. Yes, sometimes a hard foul is just a hard foul, and I accept that. But with him, you can bet every touch is treated like an opportunity to go down. And let’s not forget — he’s injury-prone. He was at Villa, improved a bit here, but now those concerns are creeping back in again. So for someone who is always falling over, at some point you are bound to get hurt, hence those injuries will only increase.

Emotionally: He seems to need constant reassurance and a clearly defined role to feel settled. There’s always this ongoing narrative defending him — “he’s talented, he just plays within himself” — but at some point, that becomes an excuse. He has been here for 4years!!!. The emotional dependency on feeling “loved” or protected isn’t something you expect from a truly elite, mentally unshakeable player.

Mentally: He’s never truly risen to the occasion consistently — barring a few decent months in his time here. That in itself tells you everything: he doesn’t have that elite mentality. Oftentimes, when he should shoot, he prefers to pass back or offload the responsibility to someone else—even when he’s in a better position to score. He’s not someone who thrives under pressure — instead, he needs to be comforted, told he’s special, and given the right “vibe” to perform. That’s not how the best operate. Instead of cementing your place after the treble, how do you mentally check out? That only happens with a weak mindset. Four years on, and some on here are still telling us he’s star-struck — by the players he’s surrounded by and playing for CITY, like when he is going to get out of that trance?

If that’s not soft to you, it still is to me!

We’ve had some scapegoats over the years, Paul Power and Richard Edghill just to mention a couple…
Loved Paul - when he came back with Everton and then had a League Winners medal to show for it - and didn't celebrate a goal (in the days when not celebrating wasn't even a thing). Top Manchester bloke, and the Blue Scousers never have a bad word to say about him.

And Richard - suffered in a team of journeymen - but Wow!! when he stepped up for the Wembley (( penalty not one shred of nerves. Met him a few times over the years and he's a top bloke too.

No coincidence Kyle and Jack , in a couple of seasons where they were constantly in the press for alcohol and womanising stories, completely of their own doing, have been quietly pushed to the periphery. Hardly a good look for the ultra professional owners or the higher ups at the club that have guided us to the heights.

I've got nothing against Jack.

He can't get into the team and keep his place.

He certainly isn't going to get into the team and keep his place when new midfield players arrive in the Summer transfer window.

He needs to move on to another PL club to get games and to keep his England place.

Thanks and good luck Jack.

I note with interest what some posters are saying about Grealish, he's a pisshead, he's unprofessional, etc, etc.

I have no idea whether they are basing these statements on firm info or whether it's media bollocks.

I'm also aware that Pep can be a moody sod, he's very stubborn, and is more than capable of falling out with players and freezing them out.

I suspect we'll find out next season when Jack gets a coach who plays him in his best position, makes him feel like he belongs, and puts faith in him.

What happens then? Does he let that coach down by having a poor attitude or do we see the old Jack Grealish return?

I suspect it's the latter.

Supporters choose which media stories they want to believe all based on their bias towards a player.

He's suddenly turned into Gazza according to some:-)

That would depend on how good our signings are this summer.
