Grealish left out of the CWC squad (pg34)

All clubs fanbases need a scapegoat regardless of how the club is doing. Raheem Sterling had stellar numbers for us but there's still haters around even now.
City fans have always loved a scapegoat. Always. Big Joe's first spell in goal for us, Edghill, Sterling (as you say), Mahrez (the "FFS" wasn't just banter originally). This season? How long have you got? It's one of our less desirable traits as a fanbase.

Don't see this as a surprise in the slightest. He's been rotating who he leaves out, grealish has escaped that rotation so far despite being a nothing option from the bench. When's he going to come on today? Need a goal, we're not going to be looking to grealish, defending a lead, there's defenders and midfielders to come on. There's no use for him so it's his turn to be left out.

He never fit the team, the role he had in the treble year/system was incredibly niche and was never going to last. His lack of goals and assists over the years is astonishing. Coupled in with his drinking habits he’s been a complete and utter flop.

I have absolutely no idea why people defend this guy.

Did he though? Because he was posting pictures training abroad for most of that summer.

Or do we just believe what the media print now?
Thank you @City64! too many seem to be forgetting that he was building up his strength during that summer but the despicable press weren’t prepared to give one of our players any praise only approbation. :-(

What drinking habits would they be then?

True, although you do see it on other forums. Scapegoating has always been part of history — you see it in schools (primary, too), you see it in government behaviour, you see it in crowds. It's not a very edifying aspect of human behaviour.
Yes, I had forgotten that Big Joe was originally not well liked, although I can think of no good reason why. It's not as if we had brilliant keepers prior to him, even in that ’68 champions team. Harry Dowd was no great shakes, to my eye. Neither was Ken Mulhearn. They were just ok.
He's talked about it publicly, I think. Quickly turned it round, though. I remember him being adored on the Kippax as time went on.

We still have Rodri and Dias isn't a shy and retiring type either. We could do with more consistency which sadly Grealish lacked the most.

Rodri and Dias... Character..?

Rodri is a nice, clever lad who looks like he only drinks iced water and his mum still drives him to matches. Dias is a whinging fanny whose head has been swelled by a bit of reflected fame with Stormzy's ex.

They're not 'characters', they're grown-up milk monitors.

Once he's gone you will be hearing a lot of issues that have gone on, they will change a lot of options on him.
From what I’ve seen over the years. He’s a great guy. Kind to kinds. A lads lad. But After the treble Pep would plead out to him in interviews for him to go back to that level until he simply couldn’t and just gave up on him.

Brilliant!

The people who actually know them personally rather than watch them on a pitch and in the odd media trained interview seem to think quite differently about them

this is a message for Jack to leave
He isn’t playing and he isn’t coming on (not that he would do anything)
To be fair he has added nothing this season and since the treble he has not kicked on.
typical example of a player who thought he’d made it, just not got the elite level mentality

You would have thought becoming a father would have calmed him down, sadly it seems the opposite.
