Grealish left out of the CWC squad (pg34)

Not a minute he seemed to be on the bench for big games that season, like the Villa finale, and Real Madrid until the end of the second leg coming on at 3-5 to see out a win and got beat 6-5.
I thought the original comment was about the game against Atletico, not Real.

I think we’re making a mistake here. An in form and confident grealish is a better player than most of our wingers in my opinion.

Of course he hasn’t shown that form and his output hasn’t been great, but I think he can turn it around and will go somewhere else and be excellent.

I’d move him into the middle.
Largely agree and I think he’d benefit from playing with natural full backs like who were after. Unfortunately, he’s already on the other side of the bridge and it’s been blown up. Even if it isn’t for us, I hope he gets back to his old self on the pitch since he’s a joy to watch.

There were ample opportunities to have moved him there last season, but I sense that they fear he’s never very far from another injury, and he’d receive much less protection playing in the middle. Save for one season, his career has spluttered, and we cannot afford to tie up money in someone we hope might just recapture form.

There’s certainly some validity to that point of view, I sort of agree with you.

Unless he has an injury or a genuine impending transfer I think this is quite disrespectful, no reason to exclude a player when let's be honest Carson, Reis and likely other junior players will be there who have contributed far less over the last few years, feels a bit like he's being singled out without a known obvious reason.

Nasri was a much better player, for me, but his hamstring injury in 2015-16 ended his serious career. Utterly bizarre that Grealish has never played 30 league games in a season for us.
Nasri was a fucking coward, remember the home derby when we were down to 10 men and he was literally hiding behind united players because he didn't want the ball, not something Jack would do.

I was really excited when we signed grealish and it was a buzz to see his name on the team sheet. It wasn't many games in when I started to have doubts. He just seemed very limited no real pace, ,couldn't really go past a fullback. Nearly every shot he had seemed to get blocked. His game was collect the ball pass back or run across the pitch and get fouled. Some claim that he was just following Instructions from Pep, I don't believe this, you don't pay all that money and then tell a player not to play his game. His return of goals and assists has been terrible. Would we have won the treble without him, probably not, so in that regard you could say his signing was a success. He comes across as a top bloke and if as it appears he is to leave the club, I wish him every success in the future.

The reason seems kinda obvious at this point. Pep and the club are pretty much telling Jack and his agents that he will not play for us again and that they ought to find a buyer or a club that’ll take him on loan. I do agree it is disrespectful that this message is pretty much out there for everyone to see and isn’t being done behind closed doors.

Very talented footballer without a doubt, but the time is right to move on. He played an integral part in the treble winning season and I wish him well in the future.

Yea that's how I see it.

We won the treble and the photo of him on the bus was iconic (less so a bit of the pissed up stuff afterwards but all harmless stuff).

He needed to do it this season. He was dropped from the euros squad and we needed him and he should have had a point to prove, but hes not been anywhere near it.

Maybe some stuff will come out in the wash but looks like it's time everyone moved on. All the best to him (for now), and I've rated him on the whole at City, but you can't help but be excited about who his replacement will be, and how we seem to be making moves to revitalize the team
