And he had freedom to roam at Villa, something he's not been allowed to do at City.
As someone else pointed out, he won't get that freedom at Villa now, because the best managers don't allow it.
KDB was the only one who got that licence and even he had to do it within the framework of the team.
And make no mistake no one worked as hard as prime Kev.

Agree.
This freedom to roam is a poor excuse. As is the play him more central role.
His best season with us was wide left in our treble season.
If he had the same form the following 2 seasons he would still be be our number one choice wide left and on his way to another season with City.
Fans favourites still have to perform to a high standard no matter how likeable they are.

For me will be remembered not as a footballer but as a human that actually cared ,
One of the finest moments I've seen around football was the medal presentation in istanbul where after all the others had payed the little blind ? Girl lip service he stopped to talk to her and made her special and kept them all waiting .
Well done Jack a moment that transcended football.
Yep I will remember the photo in the parade and that little girl in Istanbul but I can’t remember one game where he actually blew everyone away, unlike KDB at Chelsea, Bernardo against Madrid, Aguero against Newcastle, Eddie against Milan. Lots of players seem to have their moments for City but I honestly can’t remember Jack doing that, thanks for years but time to move on.

Go on , which of the 6 are you bothered about ?
One just had an op, one fucked off by Milan, one out of contract few days left and one suddenly available to live in a tent for the England squad. Behave ;-)
I'm not bothered about any of our players missing the CWC to be perfectly honest - nonsense competition simply taking up the remaining summer window where there was no football.
Back on point though - of the 6 listed Kova is the only one who'll still be here come September and he needs that surgery, unfortunately just the way football goes

I agree.

It was quite evident early doors he looked a fish out of water flapping about on the left wing. Why we bought him I don't know and why Pep pigeonholed him out wide I don't know either. Although he sometimes played well he could never maintain regular form(treble season apart) as he simply isn't a winger has he hasn't got a good wingers attributes.

Over his 4 seasons here his confidence got lower and lower to the point that in some games he was bereft of confidence. He got the ball and layed it off sideways or backwards and itook to me like he didn't was t the ball. When he did he clung on to it far too often drawing cheap fouls by going to ground too easily.

Some say he was under instruction to keep hold of the ball and set the tempo of our play. I somewhat agree and disagree. I think he was played there to carry the ball from the LF and cut in abd drive forward with shots and assists. But over time he's become more alienated out wide and become introverted which hampered his belief and confidence to express himself and shine with regularity.

I really hope his next manager can coax the confidence within Jack and give him the belief of having freedom to roam again and get back to his treble winning and Villa form.

It's a shame; He had the heart and was genuinely determined to see City successful. Was never utilised properly but he also didn't grab the opportunities that came his way towards the end.

Yet I am still baffled about the unjustified hatred some Blues have for the guy.

It's a bit fucking weird tbh, he can't have shagged all their wives/girlfriends/daughters, maybe they have that thing when you pretend to hate someone but secretly yearn for more:-)

Bless em.

I’ve loved having him in our club, think he’s top.

Never really been used in his Villa free role so we’ve never seen him properly shine other than in glimpses. Much better player than he’s shown at City.

It’s time to move him on though. If he isn’t getting that free role it’s a bit pointless him being around. Well miss his control though.

All the best to the kid.
I think Grealish is a great player in that role, just never gonna happen with Pep who loves structure above all else (which in itself is odd having managed Messi)
I hope he finds somewhere he can be happy ON the pitch again.
Good luck to the lad, all the best

That is someone celebrating achieving a dream in life.

Of all the palyers you could call not being humble Jack is not one of them.

and Bell and DeBruyne are completely different personalities, so the comparrsion doesn't match

I suppose you didn't aprove of Dunne, Royle or Quinn for being pissheads or Alison or Summerbee for being flash harrys
I said "personally" mate.. what's wrong, can't you deal with anyone having a different opinion to you ?

It's a forum, where people express differences of opinion, deal with it and stop getting so arsey.

Same explanation as always: all of sports media in this country is full of Rags and Dippers who spread evil propaganda about City. Unless it's evil propaganda about a player they happen not to like - then it's all true.

Just seen this on City’s socials. A new shop in Dubai.

Looks like the 10 display says Aguero not Grealish?
