Grealish left out of the CWC squad (pg34)

I am not sure if it was true that Guardiola was desperate to sign him, even if that what the media alluded to. I will not be surprised that getting Grealish was mainly because of a brain fart idea by the PR team at City, assuming that being English with certain image that makes him popular among English football followers particularly young girls and boys will improve City’s image in the media. All big clubs have PR teams, and some have significant influence. However, it is not uncommon PR are out of their depth and make terrible decisions (Real Madrid is a good example). Apart from that, I agree with you on everything else, particularly that he was not even that good of a footballer to join City. A mediocre player who, at his best, which lasted for half a season out of 4, during the treble season was “a very small piece” in a huge system that included several much better and influential players than him, yet some delusional fanboys keep educating us he was the “center and heart” of the treble team!! A few years from now, when all is forgotten, it will become clear that Grealish was the worst signing (considering how much the Club spent on him) in Mansoor’s era. The sooner we get rid the better for the sake of the team’s welfare and stability. It will not be shocking after he leaves he will then turn on City and City’s fans, and I am sure some on here will still defend him because: it would be under the effect of alcohol or it is media against poor him. Some will just never ever consider Grealish accountable for his acts or sayings. At the meantime, and more importantly, I am still waiting for the world’s football elites to knock on City’s door asking for the service of the phenomenal footballer named Jack Grealish. What a joke :))
Why do you say he will turn on City and City fans?

Mate he won the treble with us. That will mean more than any shite affiliation he had with a club when he was young. He’s a blue.

He's no bleed Blue Zabba, Kompany or Haaland for that matter, but I recognise his part.

He's media savvy and that's fine. I find him Blue-ajadcent, association only.

Guardiola was in a similar position for me until about 2 years ago.

That's just how I feel.

FFS, get over it.

Jack and his Mrs at Oasis.

He looks fit physically, and is ready to start a new season at City. I hope Pep gives Jack another chance?

I don't have to "get over" anything. I said I feel nothing for Grealish either way.

I don't glaze players who I know are not Blue through and through. Johnny Stones is a absolute Blue, but he's not Zabaleta/ Kompany level die-hard Blue. Harty's a stonewall Blue even through the shit he got getting carted out. Big Ned's a Blue who would go out on his shield defending us in the punditry world.

I don't see Grealish at that level.

That's fine, so you get over my opinion.

But you still have the thoughts he willl…
I personally learned from many years following football that anything is possible in professional football. Will he turn against City and City’s fans? We will just have to wait and see. Previously, he was openly supporting United against City, so it will not be shocking, at least to me, if he turns against City after he leaves. But if you think he will always be faithful to City and City’s fans, then fair enough. As I said, we will have to wait and see.

Previously, he was openly supporting United against City, so it will not be shocking, again to me, if he turns against City after he leaves. I’m not saying he will be faithful to City and City fans but I very much doubt he will turn on City and City fans.

I see no reason why. A move to Everton would be ideal for him.

And as they say, no one tells the truth more than a drunk man
They also say "ignore him, it's the beer talking, he doesn't mean it"

:)

Really wish things had worked out for Jack at City I wanted him to become one of our absolute legends like the others, let's face it he has the talent, but none of us know what went wrong with him and why he ceased to be an automatic starter.

You don’t constantly see him pissed. That would be if you went into a pub every single day and he was propping up the bar.

You see him pissed in the media.
Yep, because he’s a fucking professional footballer getting paid £1M+ a month, yet can’t get on the pitch!!

Why? Media spotlight reveals A reason.

He’s nearly 30, and it appears his best days are behind him. He appears fine with that IF going to a massive public event and getting shitfaced, knowing he’s going to get recorded by all and sundry, is no problem in his mind!

He’s has LITERALLY THROWN AWAY THE BEST YEARS OF HIS CAREER AT CITY, but he will have the medals to show he was at least under contract here and in the squad.

Big fucking whoop!

The lad has let himself, his family, and City down.

Cue the fanboy hate.

Sure.

Remember Grealish had called out City in his early days.

I don't forget things like that and if you were a proper City fan, you'd know that too.
He did. It was before the 93.20 game. He was 17 at the time and a sheep like most of the morons who believe the scum are the world's bestest club.

As he got older and saw the light, I've moved on from his 'mistake'.

The SQUAD, I agree.
The SIGNIFICANCE of the feat, I agree.

The elevation of Grealish to “the heart” of that endeavor, I disagree.
Fair enough, but I’ve given my reasoning for that, which is that he started virtually all of the big games, and I’m struggling to see how that doesn’t make him as described and I’m yet to see a cogent argument why that does not from any quarter. I’m basing and bolstering my opinion based on the facts.

On the basis he wasn’t at the heart of that endeavour then by that token neither were Walker, Dias, Ake or Stones because they all played less minutes than Jack in the PL. And only two of them started both Finals. I guess that would simplify the song about the ‘best defence in Europe’, if none of them were at the heart of the Treble. it’s a strange metric to apply to such an incredible team achievement, especially as a supporter. It’s a bizarre state of affairs when Manchester City fans are trying to run down the achievements of a player whose minutes played in the PL would make the first XI in 2022/23, as well as starting both finals in a treble winning season. I’d say that was at the heart of the team.

I happen to think that such an achievement requires so many stars to align, with so many moving parts, in such intense and demanding circumstances that anyone who played a significant role deserves nothing but adulation, respect and our never ending gratitude as supporters. You plainly do not; it’s no biggie, we all have different perspectives on these things.
