Great old tv programmes

I am old now but in 1982 as a young pup I had a choice either watch HSB live or see The Jam in Leeds. I bought a VCR and chanced I had set it properly, gig was as good as ever and VCR recorded the programme. \In those days if you didnt see the show on night of airing, that was it.

Anyway great plots, actors and writing - anyway as Big Phil used to say 'Let's Be Careful Out There'

The Good Life (for Felicity Kendall on her own)
On The Buses
Steptoe and Son (especially the one where they divided the house in half with planks)

And add on the eighties Open All Hours, Allo Allo, The Young Ones (#3 on my list) and of course Only Fools and Horses

There were a few stinkers in there that I just couldnt get on with such as Terry and June, George & Mildred and Hi-de-hi

When my Dad got Alzheimers, I bought DVDS of Fawlty Towers, Porridge, Dad's Army, The Good Life and Morcambe and Wise to watch with him. My list could be your list. Every time I walked into his room, he's either say "It is I, LeClerc" or "What do you expect from a Torquay bedroom window? / Don't mention the war / I speak English very good, I learn it from a book"
