All areas, boroughs and towns have a local council and MPs. Devolving power to a further body is unnecessary and it is testimony to the ineptitude, corruption and self-service of those bodies that a Mayor was needed in the first place. He will be re elected in the biggest landslide from the worst turnout since Captain Constipated had his worst ever morning effort at a poo

MCC oversee the city centre, as all the seperate councils oversee their towns, the mayor cannot be blamed for the gardens.

Will he dilver on the main things he targeted, transport and homelessness, that is the question and on both they are behind schedule, partly through his actions and also because whitehall has been focused on leavin gthe EU and a lot of devololved areas projects have been put on the back burner funding and approval wise

Hence its pretty quiet.

With 4 months even if burnham was standing against only one challenger, this should be being discussed at local level, we may not have wanted a mayor, but we have one and it affects us, those wishing the job should at least try and earn votes.

As someone who no longer resides in Manchester I cannot comment on what he has done. Last time I visited the town centre it did appear to be somewhat of a shit hole though.
