As someone who no longer resides in Manchester I cannot comment on what he has done. Last time I visited the town centre it did appear to be somewhat of a shit hole though.

Nothing that I’ve noticed.

Possibly helped to make the government to reach the decision to bin Northern Rail, by moaning on our behalf but it’s not clear if they’d have binned them anyway.

The city still has many homeless and is a right mess.

I actually think he's done a really good job and I'll be voting for him again.

Manchester is still in many ways a shithole and has big problems with crime but the Mayor isn't responsible for that, and the little power he has got, I think he's used it for good.

I don’t actually dislike Burnham, I’ve just never got the impression there is that much about him.

I think that’s a bit unfair. The charity Vinny’s testimonial was raising money for was a joint thing between Burnham and Vinny.

As to what’s he done, most of the things people are complaining about are outside the remit of the mayors office. Most of what he does is strategic and difficult to quantify in soundbites. 10 year housing and transport development plans etc. are difficult make a big deal about.

He said he'd end street homelessness by 2020, on that score he has spectacularly failed there are more on the street than there was when he took office. Just another politician with his nose at the trough.

Yes, he fucked up spectacularly because every homeless person in the north converged on Manchester after he promised to help them all making the problem ten times worse. It’s something that should have been kept much more low key as this outcome was entirely predictable.
