Impossible to say which is the greatest album, but if sales alone is anything to go by the DSOTM must win. Not just massive sales when released, but continued sales as non Pink Floyd people enjoyed it later on meant it was in the American top 100 charts for 14 years

Obviously it doesn't have the musical expertise of punk, but hey ho.

It got outsold by Back In Black AC/DC so that must be the best album ever............oh hang on what about Thriller :-)

The point was that it was still selling in sufficient numbers after 14 years to keep it in the charts. I don't doubt your sales figures, I was indicating that it remained very popular through many musical eras so could be said to be the best album

I never said they were the greatest albums ever, but these are my favouite three albums of the past 5 years, because that's when I started listening to music properly.

Dreaming Out Loud and Riot!' were both out in 2007 and they were all I listened to until mid-2009.

The new Crystal Castles album has been on my iPod since April, and it's all I've listenened to since, and I'll have you know: I like Pink Floyd. Largely due to my Dad, but you'll say the albms from close to your era are better than the ones from my era because you'll have listened to them much more and be much more fond of them.
