Greatest Ever M.C.F.C. Away Kit - 2009/11 White Sash

Re: Away Kits Rd 1 - 1999/2000 White v 1989 Yellow - pg 37

The great thing about that yellow kit was that the socks were a totlly different shade to the shirts and socks, so for that reason, I'm in

Yellow

99-00 for the memories of the promotion season, even though the only away game I went to where we wore it, we lost at Barnsley and the dibble kicked off on the concourse at half time.

White

And can I cast a retrospective vote for the 89/90 maroon/white striped shirt?
I've still got mine.

and I don't like it!

1999/2000

deary me fuzzy, you've let yourself down there.

1) the striped shirt you've posted has already been in this competition
2) yes the yellow shirt existed
3) it's probably the most infamous shirt we've ever worn.

we wore it for one match only, nobody kenw where it came from, nor where it went. the fans present that day thought they were at the wrong match. we got spanked 4-0 at highbury and it was never seen again.

some blues would still pay a fucking lot of money to get hod of a genuine one of those shirts though.

Ahhhh, thanks for the history lesson there Kev.

I do actually remember reading about an 'infamous' shirt but couldn't find where I'd read it or what shirt it was. Even got my Manchester A Football History book out by Gary James but couldn't find it in there.

Anyway yellow = being chased by wasps and I don't like wasps so I'll still go for the white, although I quite liked the 2005/06 away shirt that was yellow.
