I was just watching the Jaws again after a long time and I still get impressed that this movie was made more than 30 years ago. This got me thinking how many different types of films Speielberg has made.

Do you think Spielberg is the greatest movie director of all time or is it someone else like Scorsese, Coppola?

Greatest Influence: John Ford, Stanley Kubrick & Akira Kurosawa.

Forman, Coppola, Lean and Capra are my personal favourites but overall it's probably between Spielberg and Scorsese. Clint Eastwood is a fine director too.

If I was to compile a list of my favourite films, John Carpenter would feature most prominently. The Thing and The Fog at the top, Halloween and and Assault on P 13 would be top 30 too.
Lynch, Spielberg, Coppola, Kubrick and Scorsese would be there too.
No such thing as a perfect director though, they have done their fair share if shite aswel. The Ward, Dune, Crystal Skull, Jack, Eyes Wide Shut and ?????? Ok Scorsese hasnt done a bad film fair play, one or two mediocre ones at worst.
