President Donald Trump said the U.S. will "go as far as we have to go" to get control of Greenland, ahead of a planned visit to the Arctic island by Vice President JD Vance that has prompted criticism from Greenland and Denmark.

Trump showed no indication of softening his ambition to take control of the island, which is an autonomous territory but part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

"We need Greenland for national security and international security," Trump said, taking reporters' questions in the Oval Office.


Guess that’s that then.
 
Love the fact that Vance on his recent trip there couldn't find anyone who wanted to be part of the US.

USA is behaving like Germany in the 1930ties by seeking to expand its territory. Now it's Canada, Panama and Greenland, then it was the Sudetenland, Austria and eventually Poland. There was also the Hitler-Stalin agreement, now it's Donald and Vlad. I find the parallellism very clear.

Whoever thought that Putin and Trump would be neck and neck, vying to destroy the west?

Not surprisingly, Putin has come out and said if America takes Greenland he too will expand in the direction of the Arctic.

This is the great military mind who was going to take Ukraine in three days so how he'll do this with his country on its knees and his army in tatters isn't clear.

Instead of all this colonial expansion, bluster and bollocks, both Putin and Trump would do better to look at their own deprived cities and start rebuilding them, buf feeding the poor and impoverished isnt going to make them and their billionaire friends much money, us it?

But that's how he might make America great again. Russia less so. That's beyond redemption.
