My boss once booked a taxi to Reddish and ended up in Redditch, the mad fucker.

I once boarded a coach that I thought was going to Bury and ended up in Burnley if that helps.

This was before the days of mobile phones and I was stranded. Took me two hours to get back to something approaching civilisation.

I am still emotionally scarred from that coach journey.
