I’m highly sceptical that anything substantial will come out, but I obviously don’t know that.

This will be the third attempt and people are still angry after two, so why will it be third time lucky?

I’d agree with you in the main but where this investigation will differentiate is that it will have a huge focus on what part the authorities played in, by inaction or ignorance, allowing the perpetrators to either continue or get away with their insidious deeds.

Enacting the recommendations from the Jay report were a priority and will go some way to ensuring that this cannot happen again, or at least be a framework to ensure that horrible bastards are brought to account. Now we take time to investigate the institutional neglect to ensure those that were there to safeguard and protect, are held accountable for their actions.

And if things do come to light, I hope they are dealt with in accordance with the law.

What is certain, is that whatever the outcome of this new inquiry, it won’t stop social media shouting that it’s just another cover up by corrupt politicians and the demand for a fourth inquiry will be inevitable.

I had a relative in the police who told me a story, must have been 15 years ago. A cop transferred from Oldham to where my relative was based and during a conversation said he'd kept a dossier of things that had been swept under the carpet regarding a certain community. Said it was his get out of jail free card if he ever got into trouble. Turning a blind eye towards criminality whoever it's committed by will only lead to more criminality. Doesn't take a genius to work that one out.
 
Baroness Casey currently on newsnight. She’s just highlighted an investigation into Rotherham council and police, where in files of rape victims the ethnicity of the rapists was tip exed out. What the actual fck!

South Yorkshire police in particular are corrupt as anything in so many different areas.

You would think that these public servants, paid to uphold their moral values, would be there to protect young vulnerable people from vile rape and sexual exploitation of these paedophiles.

I find it really difficult to understand how these people can sleep at night, only their for the money. Well, they won’t be sleeping tight now, and that dossier will be burned as it will not be protecting him now.

If they did gather “robust national data on ethnicity” I wonder which group/s may or may not be under / over represented?

I note Casey argues that there is enough evidence from just three forces to show “disproportionate numbers of men from Asian ethnic backgrounds amongst suspects”.

Surprising that…

Wasn't it one file. one rapist....?

I'm guessing the defence would be "I'm using tippex because why would the ethnicity of the alleged offender be relevant?" i.e. it only becomes relevant once it's obvious there is a pattern of offending. But then how do you know if there is a pattern unless you record the ethnicity...?

In case you missed it, I cited 2 individuals actually and I cited Maggie Oliver first. And I cited his ethnicity because his work in prosecuting grooming gangs has seen him targeted by people in the Asian community as well as those on the far right. He also overturned an earlier CPS decision not to prosecute the Rochdale grooming gang, so yeah he does deserve a pat on the back as does Maggie Oliver.

Well that goes without saying. I was referencing the Rochdale case in which those 2 individuals were most instrumental in getting justice for the victims. Speaking more generally, Jess Phillips has done more than most politicians yet we get clueless twats like Elon Musk calling her a grooming gang apologist. Make it make sense Elon.

It’s got fuck all to do with Musk. He only got to know about it because it was already being reported on in the media. How anyone can give him one iota of credit for his utterly disgraceful tweets on the matter is fucking beyond me. The government haven’t suddenly ordered an inquiry because of what he tweeted 5 months ago. They’ve done it off the back of the Casey audit. And funnily enough, Baroness Casey just yesterday said the government were right not to order an inquiry until the full details of her audit were released. Nazir Afzal is also on record as saying when Starmer was DPP he put things in place that made it easier to prosecute the grooming gangs. Hardly the behaviour of someone wanting to “sweep it under the carpet”.

Instead of listening to clueless twats like Musk - who doesn’t give a fuck about the victims by the way - and condoning his spreading of lies and misinformation, you’d be better off listening to those who actually have a handle on all this and know what they’re talking about.
