I’m doubting your motive. You’re susceptible to populism. It seems strange that you suddenly care from nowhere.

A second inquiry will sort sod all. The last one’s findings need implementing and funding given to special task forces to attempt to stop all grooming now.

I’m glad they’ve stood up to Musk and his social media sheep. He and they need fucking off.

The next crusade will start soon and this one will be forgotten as the vast majority don’t give a shit about the kids and are just doing it to own the Muslims.

If you know how to eliminate waste from an organisation in an effective way, you will be a billionaire in no time. That's the Holy Grail of all organisations, private and public, and has never been achieved anywhere. It's like saying machines would run better with no friction. Of course they would, and you can do various things to minimise it. But eliminate it?

This is the cop-out that every government has come up with for a good 40 years. 'We can have better services for less money by cutting waste.'

So why has no one ever achieved it?

Because they ask the wrong people to make them, go to the shop floor and ask them, I guarantee you would get better advice than some management type who’s brought in and just thinks reducing manpower is the way. The waste I’ve seen on projects that were not needed and never worked is scandalous in the public sector.

I watched a (slightly shit, but still insightful) documentary from Channel 4 the other day hosted by a model. It was about these agencies that hire models to do 'image work' in exotic locations, which basically involves standing around looking pretty at parties or events for the rich and well-connected.

It became pretty clear that a lot of these agencies were basically sex trafficking operations for the extremely wealthy, where vulnerable young women are brought to places where they have fuck all rights, often have their passports removed, have whatever they get up to illicitly recorded to blackmail them into ruining whatever modelling career they have. Obviously very little outrage about that, of course, because it doesn't include a nice side of bigotry under the guise of caring about victims.

I can tell you one source of waste in the public sector straight off.

People being asked to do stuff they are not qualified to do, and have no experience of, with no training whatsoever.

Governments bringing in new 'initiatives' every year because some Secretary of State wants to (figuratively speaking) piss up a lamppost, and then writing off the initiative 2-3 years later, before anyone can say whether it's worked or not.

Yes. A good example is Fred West's family. That went on for years without anyone picking up on it. And when you think about it, it could be happening in the same street as any of us, as we don't live in each other's houses these days. We don't pry. We mind our own business.
