Definitely worth a listen:
Great Lives - John Gray on JG Ballard - BBC Sounds
Philosopher John Gray chooses the iconic futuristic writer JG Ballard.www.bbc.co.uk
Thought it would mainly cover old ground (and it does), but John Gray and Ballard's daughter offer fresh insights that Matthew Parris's questions were cleverly designed to elicit.
Thanks for that. Didn't know it. He deliberately chose to live in suburbia, and deliberately chose to live under the Heathrow flight path. You probably know that.
Joy Division fans (of whom I am a big one) will also appreciate the reference to Ballard in “Atrocity Exhibition”. It was actually years before I made that connection myself. I was a fan of Ballard and a fan of JD in parallel but hadn't noticed it.
