Brilliant.

I know mate. fooking insane. Any variety of chocolate pepper is hotter than it's red version. Could be a new world record here. My douglahs are really taking off and starting to flower. Wont be long before I'm tasting the pain. :-S

That's some impressive chillies right there son. Are they supposed to get that big (said the actress to the bishop, fnarr, fnarr)?!

Impressive set of plants mate.

That's only half of them. The rest are next door.
Bloody hell! How's it going selling seeds/products on (if you don't mind me asking of course!)?

Got a label machine, got plastic zip lock bags, got chillies, just set up an ebay account and have a paypal account but don't know how to link them together or sell on ebay. Anyone out there can offer any help??

Can't offer any help bud as I am useless with that kind of thing, well everything actually!

Anyway, my own journey continued this evening with the inclusion of some red, dutch scotch bonnets. Very much sweeter than their Ugandan counter parts and not as fragrant/perfumed.

They were very nice on my rib eye steak. Got a pack of 4 or so from Morrison's and the weird thing is the first one had no heat at all?! Next one though (for a very unseasoned chilli-ist like me) pretty much blistered my mouth.

Am working my way there chaps. Just have a long way to go.

If you get your paypal/ebay thingamajig set up, I'll order a jar of sauce off you - ok, you can't retire on it, but small acorns/might oaks and all that :))

Nice to know mate.

Checked my Jalapenos this morning and noticed loose soil at the top and fine powdery soil at the drainage holes. Decided to change the compost and found these little fuckers. White Curl Grubs.

They apparently eat the roots. Anyway, needles to say I squashe the little fuckers.

Other plants doing ok.

Hi Paphos, my dad gave me some Trinidad Scorpion chillies he grew the other day

Firstly, How hot are these mofo's?

Secondly, what do they work in?

Really fruity pungent chilli mate. I'd use only one in a casserole or stew. They're probably best suited to Caribbean food, too strong to put in a curry as they have a taste of their own. (would easily overpower the flavour of a balti or madras)

How hot are they? Put it this way, I get really nervous when doing any superhots as they are extreme. Maybe for starters it might be better if you slit the chilli and pop it in whole rather than chop it up and put it in. Just sayin' like.

Got a curry tree by post the other week, growing well.
Fresh curry leaves are amazing in a Madras.
it'll be while before we can pick any from this little chap - only a couple of feet high but in the meantime I can get fresh ones in Rusholme which freeze well - couple of months before they start to discolour. I agree there really is no substitute for them We also managed to get some coconut cooking oil the other week from Waitrose. That together with size 16-20 giant raw prawns, fresh curry leaves and South Indian spices make a fantastic Keralan Seafood Curry.

Those Scorpian Chillies are lovely really enjoyed them. My Dad gave me some Chocolate Jalapeños the other day, thinking they would be like normal Jalapeños I walloped 2 into a chilli I was making. These are not like normal Jalapenos as I found out after a bite, they are a hybrid monster
