I grew up durin' the swingin' sixties in a land full of hippies , flower power , Trolley buses , outside toilets , and pre-decimal currency ...... it was wonderful to see the rag bone man pass through the street , closely followed by the coal man ...... those were the days when nobody could afford a phone , few could afford a car , mobiles and computers were nowhere to be seen , and we were all forced to talk to each other!
me too mate
black and white telly, no phone
motd on for fifty mins with just two games
walk two miles to school
the best music ever in the late 60s into the 70s whilst the 80s were crap for music

hehe ......

when i think back the highlight of my day after school was rollin' pitch around any lollysticks i could find in the street , and constructin' a makeshift 'bogie cart' from planks of wood and old bike wheels that lasted me for about ten minutes before i crashed it into the nearest lamp-post!

What a pityful childhood .. no wonder i've turned out the way i have !
we played footie in the back entry between the houses on one side and the other
it was pretty good, a reasonably sized patch of waste land where we played football in the winter and cricket in the summer
everywhere shut at 6, tv off at 11
fuck all to do on a sunday

Born in 77 also!
Playing football all six week holidays, with a little hide n seek, kick-can and ralivoe to boot!

Seconded.
Born in 77, so all my years as a kid were in the 80's.
I remember going out at 9 in the morning in the summer hols, fucking about on the canal and brook, back for tea then Wembley Singles in the street. Hot sunny days, Jublees, Mr Freeze ice pops, skateboards, BMX's and only the Atari to keep me from wanting to not do any of that. These days there are too many things to keep a child indoors. Summer time in the 80's was the bollocks.
Think of Stand By Me, that was me and my mates.

All this. Went back to the Coppice in sale the other week where i grew up as a kid and played football with a casey bought from the garage. Now a effin housing estate. Mum used to have to drag us in in the Evening as all we wanted to do is be outside. Now Mums are having to kick there kids out of the house to play. Luxury was getting a B&W Portable TV in our bedroom with a coat hanger aerial and who can forget the Raleigh Burner
