black and white telly, no phone
motd on for fifty mins with just two games
walk two miles to school
the best music ever in the late 60s into the 70s whilst the 80s were crap for music
hehe ......
when i think back the highlight of my day after school was rollin' pitch around any lollysticks i could find in the street , and constructin' a makeshift 'bogie cart' from planks of wood and old bike wheels that lasted me for about ten minutes before i crashed it into the nearest lamp-post!
What a pityful childhood .. no wonder i've turned out the way i have !

it was pretty good, a reasonably sized patch of waste land where we played football in the winter and cricket in the summer
everywhere shut at 6, tv off at 11

Born in 77, so all my years as a kid were in the 80's.
I remember going out at 9 in the morning in the summer hols, fucking about on the canal and brook, back for tea then Wembley Singles in the street. Hot sunny days, Jublees, Mr Freeze ice pops, skateboards, BMX's and only the Atari to keep me from wanting to not do any of that. These days there are too many things to keep a child indoors. Summer time in the 80's was the bollocks.
Think of Stand By Me, that was me and my mates.
