Guardiola fined £20,000 for wearing yellow ribbon (p140)

Fair enough for Guardiola to wear his ribbon, but if I'm honest I agree with the FA. I you allow this, you open the gates for other political statements, which may be a little more "controversial", which could not be stopped due precedent set here.

Although it may upset some on here, but the FA are right in their approach here, as not to do this will leave them open at a later date.

bollocks

FFS, no he is not behaving like a pillock. Just because he is managing your club does not mean you can dictate his priciples and beliefs. Yes he could simply not wear it for 2 hours but to Pep that is not the point. The more he wears it and the more trouble he gets it the greater the cause is highlighted. Yes it is going to lead to a touchline ban and yes it is going to effect (affect ?) our club but you cannot switch your emotions on and off. Look at when Christian women are asked to remove the cross from around their neck, to Pep it is the same, he feels as strongly about these issues as Christians do.
Where this is going to end I haven't got a scooby but i do not see Pep abiding by the rule.
Not being able to switch your emotions off, is not the same as not being able to take a bloody ribbon off for 2 hours. Pep's made his feelings clear and no-one's asking him to change them. Simply take the bloody ribbon off.

I don't know where it's going to end up either, but if it ends up doing any damage to our image, our results, points total or anything else, all over a fucking ribbon FFS, then I am sorry but Pep is being a pillock.

Maybe they should change their treatment of humans in the UAE?

Just a thought like.

But that is not the point here. Pep cannot fight the world, he cannot change the UAE no more than he can change the plight of the Rohingya Muslims, what he can affect and what he passionatley believes in is what is happening in his place of birth. The reporter was being a shithouse for asking that question, all Pep could do if he did not like what is happening in the UAE is resign, a fat lot of good that would do anyone.

I agree what bollocks.

The FA allow political statements all the time the National Anthem being one and soldiers bringing cups on etc so they have no place to get involved.

They are only involved now because it's been forced on them by their red friends so they can use it as another stick to attack Pep and City.

The timing of the charge said it all.

Why would he take the ribbon off ? The very reason he is wearing it is to get international exposure to a cause he believes in. For all I know he doesn't wear it when he goes to Asda but put a camera anywhere near him and he will have it on. I cannot understand why so many Blues cannot see this is something he passionately believes in, more than our club, more than his wages, more than touchline bans, more than points being deducted - anything. Further I support his passion, it is a non violent protest, why have we suddenly become so submissive and believe any rule, no matter how silly must be obeyed without question.

Thats why I said bollocks, anyone who couldnt work it out for themselves is a halfwit. 8-)

This backs up my point. Pep is making waves. Some Blues might not like it because it could harm the club but he believes passionately about this, he isn't going to stop. We should be backing him instead of backing off. For a set of fans that have always been on the edge we seem to have lost a lot of our spirit and sense of justice.
