guess next season's squad

Definitely going:
Kolarov, Demichelis, Yaya
Probably going:
Bony, Zaba, Willy
Possibly going:
Fernando, Kompany, Mangala, Delph

Haven't a clue who he'll bring in but I expect a few from the Bundesliga

Caballero, Kolarov, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Mangala, Yaya Toure, Fernando, Navas, Bony, will go I think.

No idea who will come in as it seems there isn't any imminent deals. (heavy rumours etc..) Gundogan seemed to be nailed on but all has gone quiet after his injury. Laporte as well, but he is crocked also, so who knows.

I hope 75% or more of the recruits are under 23. It shocked me to find out we only had 3 players under 25 this season: Nacho, Sterling, Mangala. We need at least 1/3 of the team and preferably Half the team under 25.

For me..

Out: kolarov, navas, yaya, MDM, mangala
In: stones, pogba, alexia sanchez
Surprise us: sterling - pep will make him a world beater and for me.. Nasri will be the big surprise I think he'll become absolutely crucial for us

Definitely Out: Willy, Wright, Zaba, Kolarov, MDM, Yaya, Zuculini, Bony, and obviously Jovetic and Dzeko.
Possibly out: Fernando, Mangala, Navas
I also wouldn't be a bit surprised if Kompany and Silva are moved on.

So we need a GK, LB, RB, CB, CM, W(x2), and a CF.

Realistically that is too much overhaul for one offseason and IMO the most pressing needs are LB, RB, W, CM

It is hard to predict what pep will do because we don't know if he will play a 433 like barcelona or a 4231 like he did at bayern.

If he plans to play a 433 they will need to be more players sold and bought than if he plays a 4231.

If those are the automatic starters. I'm almost 100% sure Clichy won't be our starting LB next season. Back-up at most if he stays.

We will have new starting full-backs next season.
He gives a shit massive quality and hard to find in our squad but get your point, OK just Kun and Kev then.

first 11:

goalkeeper.
3 defenders.
2 wingbacks.
2 midfilders.
silva De Bruyne
aguero

A lot of people saying we need 8 or 9 new first 11 players, but i just dont think that is realistic. For me we have a core group who are good enough: Hart, Clichy, Sagna, Otamendi, Dinho, KDB, Silva, Aguero - we add a manager who can get those players playing, motivated and with a purpose and add maybe Stones, Pogba, Griezmann etc (only 3 or 4 top class players though) and we have a truely quality side.

I'm not saying we dont bring in other players, but id like them to be young players who have to come in and learn and fight for their places.

If Pep was naming a team tomorrow maybe it would look like this. He likes attacking fullbacks..He likes an Alonso, Busquets which we don't have. The nearest is Nando and he likes wide attackers.

...................Hart
Navas..Otamendi...Denayer....Kolarov
...Nasri...Nando...KdB
Nacho......Kun...Sterling

Looking at that the problem areas are the two FBs and the holding midfield player.

No point in naming a squad of 20+ players who'll all expect to be starters. It doesn't work.
Every position should have a first choice, a 30+ player who knows he can't play a full season and a youth player. Everyone knows the pecking order and it will be harmonious.

Hart being captain? he can't even organize his defender.
Kolarov always doing whatever he please, and other seniors just being silent.
that's why it important for City to have strong influence of homegrown players.
it much worse when City keep too many old stubborn players. too many ego to handle.
