Guidetti (at Celtic)

He got another yesterday, and, while the league isn't a great standard......his tally is impressive. He obviously thrives on confidence and, along with his fitness,it looks like he has regained it.

Well he wont get that from the people in charge at our club, with that latest revelation..
Celtic claim a fee was agreed with Manchester City for John Guidetti prior to them taking the striker on loan..

He's been here 6? years..... and not once has he come close to being a first team regular. There are many reasons for that, however,i'd like to offer fate as another......with everything that has happened to him,it seems John was never destined to play for us.

Get the fee, wish him well, hope for a sell on......and move on.
Agree with this. Its also best for his career, he needs to get unlimited playing time at his age after long injury. We get little cash, he gets his career back on track.

I am pleased for the lad but to put it into context remember Samaras regularly banged in 25-30 goals a season in that league.

He has proved in Holland and Scotland that when fit and given a run of games he can score goals, he didn't get that opportunity in England due to his illness.

It's proving difficult at City for youth to get a chance these days and I can't see it changing until we have done the 5 trophies in 5 years thingy.

I'm sorry, but when did this happen? From what I can find he scored less than 75 goals in six seasons (a dozen of which were in Europe) with his best return being 17 and failing to even reach double figures 3 times.

Admittedly his goal return was better in Scotland than England, but he wasn't even half as successful as you claim.

Are you not aware of the BM 'licence to exaggerate/makes things up when it suits' rule? Surprising..... as it gets used quite often.

Glad to hear he's doing well in a League with regular game time.
Probably best for his career if he stays on there to continue a run of form.

Hopefully City can start giving Youth more time.
Is it fans that are pressurising the club to be successful or is it the general media which is putting the pressure on to maintain a "galactico" approach to running the first team squad?

I'd rather watch a team of many locally produced regulars and NOT win much than a team like we have now.
Superb football but that's just me - I want local lads wearing the sky blue shirt, hopefully displaying superb football as well.

You are correct i blame old age, lol!

2008 → Celtic (loan) 16 (5)
2008–2014 Celtic 155 (52)

Apparently Hull are in for him at £2million. If we can manage to get a sell on percentage out of that deal I'd consider that ok business considering he's free come summer.

If Hull buy him, surely they buy him from us?
