Gundogan - Back training 26th June '17

This is my fear.

Fantastic player but seems to be plagued by injuries.

The annoying thing is that they're not even niggly injuries such as muscular ones, it's a major injury each time.

He hasn't been plagued by injuries, he's only had two, but as said early in the thread and just a couple of posts up, it's an injury that will have weakened the knee substantially
There's a 5% chance of a complete recovery and no further issues. I just hope that the rehab continues for a further six months after he's declared fully fit

Let's hope for a miracle and have some patience, he can be our worldclass 'signing' during the course of the next season.
The worrying part is that he had relied heavily on acceleration/bursts of speed at his best, and such qualities often deteriorate after ACL tear.
I don't think Gundogan will ever be the same player he was in 2012, but sportsmen of his quality sometimes reinvent themselves even after major injuries.

i keep forgetting about gundogan when i talk about the new season the players we have already going forward is looking good and again gundogan is world class and many wanted him last season so sort the fullbacks out and keep kompany fit or sign a new defender we will be hard to beat in all competitions

Gundogan to City TV: "I am just waiting for the team to come back and maybe I am able to join the first bits of every training session."

Gundogan: "Then hopefully over the next weeks I will be able to join them for the rest of the training sessions and, of course, the games."

It was really striking last season, when Kompany came back, how transformed the team became. If the same happens with Gundogan and the midfield then I do think we will be a force no doubt about it. I cannot wait for next season to start, loads of positive vibes from me!

Full Backs, Central Defender & Vincent for 30 games.......Lets rumble.

I think he will be back after that first international break, so early/ mid September.

We missed his quality when he got injured last year and we will benefit hugely when he's back. Class player.

If gundogan can stay fit he'll play a huge part in our midfield next season! Peps first signing for the club and one of the 3 players he said he wonders what the season would have been like if gundogan, kompany and Jesus had been fit and/or available all season.

I think we've underestimated just how hard this lads worked to get himself fit.
Never moaned and just got on with it.Ive been watching his twitter updates and I for one am really glad hes on the mend.Cant wait to see him fit again.

Hope Gundogan will get to his very best. If he does we will have some player. It'll be hard and he will need time after being out for so long and straight after another long term injury. We need to be patient with him.

Best central midfielder in the league by some distance so keep him fit and we've got one hell of a chance to win things.

What I really like (amongst many another thing) is the effort he's made to integrate himself into the club's culture. He's a new enough at City that he could've just disappeared into the shadows and gotten on with his recovery and I don't think we would ask too many questions.

But here we are and it almost feelslike he's been part of the furniture for the longest time.
