Gundogan - Back training 26th June '17

Strange that he carried on if the original knock tonight is the same knee, hopefully not that bad in the morning after his scan etc

Bad news, hope he comes back soon as he has done well, but their was always an element of risk to signing him with his injury history.

I didn't really want us to sign a player with a broken knee cap.

FWIW a weakened knee makes you more susceptible to injuries in the other one.
"Broken knee cap", he also had surgery to stabilise the knee cap thus removing the weakness in the area - then no doubt he'll have had extensive physio to ensure the muscle groups around the joint are strong. I'd stay away from giving medical knowledge if I were you.

Yes I thought Pep might have been a bit premature to right him off for a long long time etc.

If its his medial he might be back for the Chumps League last 16.

For some reason there's more than a few who don't think he does much in the Gundogan thread.

I think They're about to find out how big a role he's had.

What an ass you are, almost everyone said squeezing him into the team was the problem, not that he was individually poor.

Gutted for him. Horrible injury.

Now we're faced with running kev and silva into the ground rather than rotating all 3, and yaya just got a promotion out of necessity.

Not necessarily Garcia should get a go.

Yeah, that's just completely not true, and you only need to read the last few days on his performance thread. You might think it's fitting him in, and no him that's been the problem, but that's not everyone.

The **** that did it never even got a yellow card.

Their players were doing sly knee to the thighs of a lot of players. The ****s.

Whilst they may have been fouling all night, it wasn't that (in the context of direct impact) that caused the injury, it was how he landed. A bit like Kompany at Palace he planted his right foot whilst twisting slightly and his weight went down through the knee bending it inside to out. The slight twist raises the possibility of cruciates rather than medials unfortunately, but fingers crossed the scan shows otherwise.

Well I've been very critical of him(and I think even tonight we had better movement once he left the field), but it's definitely not down to him. We can play 2 of the 3 and should rotate them. We paid the price tonight for constantly having all 3 in there. When the games come thick and fast, we've a big problem now.

Gutted for the lad, only just back to full fitness and now this. If there is a bright side we tore up the first 10 games without him and Yaya at the start of the season so hopefully go back to that system.

Golden opportunity for Yaya.

If he delivers like tonight we are sorted.
